This winter work commences on a major new development of The Square which will see the existing Centre both expanded and re-imagined.
There are two key objectives of this new development.
The first objective is to greatly increase the overall floor space of The Square, thereby giving it the critical retail mass and larger unit sizes necessary to ensure its pre-eminence over other recently-developed shopping centres in the Greater Dublin area.
The second objective is to re-configure The Square and its immediate environs so as to maximise the entire area’s appeal as a modern and vibrant Town Centre. This is to be achieved by greatly enhancing and extending the leisure and public amenities, and by adding business and residential space to the existing retail offering.
Chapman Taylor LLP (London) and Lafferty Design (Dublin) have been retained to design and implement this ambitious new development.
The initial works, about to begin construction, involve developing the area currently laid out in car parking to the north of the existing Centre. Subsequent works will shortly take place on the land to the west, south, and east of the existing Centre.
