Another important component of the new development of The Square is the construction of 800 new residential units.
Half of these units are about to begin construction as part of the initial works in the area to the north of the existing centre. The subsequent works include the construction of two landmark residential complexes adjoining the new open air square to the south of the scheme. As well as affording their new residents spectacular views over the Wicklow mountains, these buildings will provide a visual marker for the entire Centre, visible from many miles away. More residential units are being built above the retail units in the two new streets running through the western side of the scheme.
These residential units will create a new community within the development itself, enhancing the sense of The Square as a living town centre.
