In line with the developers’ vision of The Square as a vibrant city centre, the expansion includes the building of over 200,000 square feet of new cinemas, restaurants, cafés, nightclubs, bars and other leisure facilities.
The new public square being developed to the south of the existing centre will be bordered by an array of cafés, restaurants and bars. The whole area is being confi gured with a southern orientation, to take advantage of the sun and the spectacular views of the Wicklow Mountains.
It is proposed to relocate the cinema complex to the southern side of the current shopping centre, giving film-goers direct access to the new square’s bars and restaurants.
There will also be a new 43-room hotel and 47-room apart- hotel built to cater for the projected increase in vistors.
